So as you all know, warmane as been mentioning porting over old raids and dungeons from lordaeron etc to cata and mop realms.
This has been said multiple times in the past
So the question is, why didnt we get any? not even 1 old raid or new old dungeon, simply nothing
it feels like their doing little to keep their community, cata is alrdy dead, mop is dying faster and faster, where is the old content that you been mentioning for so long?
Cuz if you havent noticied, at the moment theres absolutely nothing to do in the mop servers except achievs and pet battles
Theres a reason you once had 5k pop in the realm and now u cant even pass 3k on peak times, its depressing, mop has so good potential to be populated but it feels like u do praticly nothing to preserve it
Look at lordaeron, how well and perfectly scripted it is, if u would ever invest in mop with real skilled developers, you would have a 5k+ stable community everyday if not more
Sure mop is harder to script, i agree, but if you can script lordaeron as good as you did, then it shows theres no reason for mop not being scripted to at least a decent/aceptable level, not talking about detailed scripting, but seriously content wise at least.
Ppl stay around with bugs as long as theres content and things to do, but when you have so many bugs and no content then what can you expect?
Only thing keeping ppl here is the hope of a better future and friends
Maybe now with lordaeron development finishing ull start to bring actual fixes and content? at this rate were not going anywhere to be honest.
The thing is that even if they released all the old content ported from wotlk to mop/cata realms in,say next week,it would be maybe few months before everyone starts complaining about the lack of content yet again.
As for the wotlk and lordaeron progress vs cata/mop,wotlk has been in development for ages,it's easy to script not because it's dated but because almost every single bit of code is available in one place or another, and the little things that they have to manually add them selves are few and far in between each other.
MoP is not only more complex scripts wise,it also has extensive use of phasing which as far as i can tell, they have totally given up on,i mean it took wotlk years to reach a point where argent crusade quest line with it's phasing was working somewhat acceptable, now imagine a whole continent that is almost entirely based on an excessive amount phasing,so as far as proper quest lines go,we won't see them ever,as we never had the chance to see vale of eternal blossoms before it got wrecked by hellscream or whoever had a hisy fit.
Overall i think anything beyond wotlk will be impossible to replicate simply because private server developers won't have the knowledge and manpower to undertake the sheer amount of work that would be needed to get the experience anywhere near retail.
That is also why you have certain other servers that excel at different aspects, and fail at others. Some have damn near perfect classes, others have amazing raid and dungeon quality, few have decent quest progression, none of them have it all because it's just too much, which is what brings me to my last point - The reason why people stay here is not because of some silly nostalgia or hope,it's the fact that as good some other servers might be at specific aspects, warmane mop remains superior overall, hence why people complain instead of leaving. If there was a better server in all three fields - questing, dungeons and pvp,i think warmane would of shut down MoP long ago, that or would have focused on it much more.
Since when is phasing an issue when content mostly involves bosses and mobs scripting?
ppl dont care about the amount of non blizzlike quests on a 7x server, we care about content, raids, dungeons, bgs, working arena frames and class fixes
your trying to put things much harder than thety are, i clearly said they dont have to script in detail, just content wise
the issue is the lack of content which basicly means they have to focus more in developing mop.
what other reason or excuse is there for not having a single old raid ported here?
in resume the issue resolves around 1 thing: Lack of effort on non wotlk realms.
The reason why people stay here is not because of some silly nostalgia or hope,it's the fact that as good some other servers might be at specific aspects, warmane mop remains superior overall, hence why people complain instead of leaving. actually you are wrong
there are much better alternatives... mop here is def not "superior" to any of them in any way
the only reason why im still playing here is because i have the _hope_ that they will eventually pay at least 10% of the attention they pay to lord
and im too fraking lazy to start over again in another server
