I'm trying to start playing on Lordaeron at the suggestion of a friend, I've so far downloaded the game client (both new and old) via bit torrent from this website, and the megawhatsist version someone linked in the forum. Whenever I log on no matter the version I've downloaded (using wow.exe yes, not the launcher) it offers to suggest a server and then shows me a realmlist without any realms.
I've triple checked my realmlist.wtf (set realmlist logon.warmane.com set patchlist logon.warmane.com) and made sure I'm running in administrator mode. I am not playing on a proxy server nor am I in a strange country.
I also copy pasted the realmlist from the /world of warcraft file over to /wow/data/enUS because I read something else on the forum that made it sound like the realmlist should be in that file and not in the main directory. Nothing's worked. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.

Realmlist is
SET realmList "logon.warmane.com"
And it should be in the Config.wtf under the WTF folder so c:\*****\Wow folder\WTF\config.wtf

Done. I did a complete wipe and redownload using this technical guide from the forums:http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=106661
I've downloaded and run all of the patches on the list up to 3.3.5a.
Now whenever I log on it immediately tells me that it requires a restart and launches the blizzard downloader to update.

I've deleted the patcher, now I'm just getting an error message that says there was an error logging in, please try again later.

you was going good here, you just needed to log-in by using Warmane AccountName, not email address
