Technical WOTLK : Having some FPS Issues

For some reason I can't run this game on ultra at 60 fps . On Retail i'm able to hit steady 60 fps on ultra. And for some reason , when I switch into Borderless/windowed mode, i can only get 30fps no matter what graphic settings i'm using. Would be nice to not have this anymore if you can help :)

Windows 10 64bit
8bg ram
Intel core I7-6700 cpu @2.6ghz (8cpus) ~ 2.6ghz
GTX 970m

check if ur vertical sync isnt on.
borderless/windowed 30fps probably due to the max background fps being a set 30 in the client and somehow it interprets the WoW window as a background task.

i had this problem as well once. i got it resolved by not using the no-install client provided here but instead download the WOTLK installer and patch it up to 3.3.5a. if u can be arsed, its worth it

I am having the same issue with "background task" fps in windowed mode for the Wrath client. Would you mind explaining how to go about downloading the installer and patching it, without having it update to the retail version?
