I can change other settings but I can't change my resolution without the game crashing.

Then its trying to play on a resolution that is not able to on your monitor.
you can set the screen to windowed borderless, and then try changing the resolution. This should stop the game forcing your pc to change its resolution also which maybe causing the crashes.
