1. Can anyone explain the difference between Havoc & Mithrios for tanking?

First of all I ve searched and yet didnt find satisfactory answers, Im only sure its BiS for PvP and was thinking it was BiS for PvE. It has bigger base damage compared to Mithrios and thats a huge plus for me since some of skill' attack is determined by it (slow weapon vs. fast weapon, same dps but Mithrios 300-550, havoc 500-900), true we lose at least 4 gem str (with buffs) and more importantly 2 gem expertise (maybe the real reason.) but still every skill will be with bigger damage and will cause more threat for str loss, only thing is we will trade is 40 expertise for 60 stamina. But at that point of gear stamina wont be the stat that saves the tank and it wont hurt just one small change. This is my reason and I want to see if Im being wrong.

    Havoc - TPS
    Mithrios - EHP

  3. Some people believe Havoc's Call is "BIS" because they feel they need the extra threat. If you and your group know what you're doing (which, if people don't know how to Misdirect or manage their threat and are in heroic ICC, there's a problem), it should be a non-issue. Mithrios is great for expertise, and is far superior for EH (effective health; this includes strength, block value and spell power) and avoidance.

If someone tries to tell you that Havoc's Call is "BIS", you really should ignore them.

  4. If you're gonna go for a slow weapon in PvE, I'd suggest leaving havoc aside and going for a bloodvenom blade. Blue socket + extra hit make it a superior choice when it comes to stat effectiveness.

As for differences between 2.6 and 1.6 weapons, the biggest difference is that of threat. Sans that, it depends on the weapon. Bloodvenom will free up your ring slot (AV ring will go into something else and you can grab Onixia 25 man) while mithrios will free up extra stamina via sockets which would have otherwise been used for hybrid expertise + stamina gemming.

  5. Thanks for replies guys and girls.
