Racism/Discriminatory Action on Icecrown Question

Realm rule:
Racism/Discriminatory Behavior: Avoid at all costs, insulting someone's country, culture, lifestyle or skincolor. Even if you are just "joking" it isn't allowed. Slangs such as the n-word aren't allowed either, even in Guild chat. Don't blame guildies for reporting you. It's wrong and you should know that.

Is this enforced in anyway, and if so, what is the punishment? Say someone spews hate crime because of my race = racism. Someone assumes I am inferior because I'm in a wheelchair = discriminatory action. Is racism treated in the same manner as discriminatory behavior? Where is the line between racism/discriminatory behavior/hate speech and "internet insults"? Are you racist only if you use the n-word but not when you use any other racial slur? Are you exhibiting discriminatory behavior only if you insult someone's mental or physical condition?

Serious question, serious replies.

Been kicked from like 6 guilds for reporting people for racism. I guess for a reason - these people do get banned if reported.

Your freedom ends where the other person freedom starts. Simple as that.

If you're making other person feel unconfortable with your words you should learn when to stop your jokes.

It is enforced, however do not tell anyone that you reported them if you did or it can cause problems for you. I have seen people get banned for being racist and discriminatory towards others. (Especially against the staff)

So if someone bashes on you for multiboxing, deliberately singling you and constantly killing you, PMing you racist comments, insults, etc, is this considered a form of discrimination that deserves some sort of action?

True story, was targetted, repeatedly ganked, and called a "****ing chinese gold farmer" for multiboxing--along with other standard internet insults.

Perhaps. You should start with putting the individual(s) on ignore. If it continues, then you could report them for harassment. It is up to the GM team if it's worth taking action on, however.
