Best WOTLK 5x balanced team?

I'm currently doing x5 Ret Pally team.
x5 Taunt is pretty good for questing.

But for heroics, is there a better group combo?

I have another team that's x4 ele sham and x1 pally.
As well as an x5 druid team. Neither of those teams have many hours on them.

X5 Ret team is fresh 80. I was just wondering if it gets any easier.
To be honest, pallys aren't real fun to play.

I hear ranged teams are really good, right? But you'd still need a tank for pvp correct?


How would x4 Ele x1 Tank DK work? For PvE and PvP?

And just put the warriors attacks on a basic rotation macro?

I'm not quite sure what the synergy between 1 dk and 4 eles would be in pvp, tbh I would rather go with your 4 eles 1 hpally. For pvp having a mix of rangeds and melees seems like the controlling of characters would be too much of a hazzle, but I guess tossing someone away with thunderstorm then deathgripping them back and tossing them away again with another thunderstorm would be fun to watch. For PvE I would most likely spec one of the shamans to restoration and tank with dk while dpsing with 3 eles.

They autoassist the primary screen. So healing would mess up their targeting.

I don't even know how I'd do this. I mean the DPS is easy with macros. WOuld I just make a healing macro for each character? Or do you play the healer and let the tank go through a macro rotation with the DPS?

Screen of the tank or screen of the healer, whichever feels easier for you. I'd go with screen of tank and macros for healer most likely. However you might want to change that for some encounters.

The strongest 5 man team for pvp and pve is 1dk 4 ret paly.
4 ret palys provide enough heal with instant flash heal to keep the dk tank alive. U can do every 5 man dungeon (including hor hc) with that comp.
In pvp its also the best 5 man setup because with 4 times wings u can one shot everything around while the dk has slows and deathgrip against opponents that are trying to kite u.

Advanced multiboxing skills are required to play this setup in a efficient way.

I think Jakke is probably correct there. Plenty of burst and effectively no downtime but you need to be decent to play it properly.

If you want something more beginner friendly then 1x prot pally and 4x ele shammy is very easy and works well in pve. For pvp swapping the pally to holy can work as a pocket healer but not as strong as the dk/ret team.

My Ret team is done. I have some trouble on certain bosses like Krystallus in HoS (his AoE). But other than that I can pump out serious DPS.

So for the DK, do I go tank spec in instances and a dps spec in pvp?

Or do I go pure DPS spec all around?
I'm going to have to relearn the class (only played one in MOP), but I think I have the multiboxing coordination down.

U dont need a tank spec. Just switch to frost presence and u can tank with any spec.
I would go two hand frost for PvP because it provides the most burst dmg when u have a short uptime on opponents.

Dmg spell priority looks like this: howling blast>frost strike>obliterate>blood strike
Spam chains of ice if a enemy tries to kite u.

For the palys i would try to get the t10 two set bonus. its extremly powerful because it makes u able to spam divine storm for massive aoe dmg and heal at the same time.

Wow 40% chance to reset. I wonder how I'll incorporate that into the mix.
Okay cool, yeah I'll aim for 2pc of that first. Shouldn't be too hard. My DK is 74 now. I basically have my Pallys behind him already running. I built a simple macro for powering through stuff.
It's like /castsequence reset=8,combat Icy Touche, Plague strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike
And I have my taunts like Dark Command separate.

Probably pretty newb, I know. But it's a start!
My pallys are 80, so I can probably queue for dungeons now with them.
I'll do Ragemane tonight, gain a couple more lvls, the arena, and then finish on Oracle rep. I might be able to get 80 tonight.

U can make a spell priority with ISboxer.
For example, bind howling blast to key "h", frost strike to "j", obliterate to "k" and blood strike to "l".
In isboxer make a mapped key and add to a single step keystroke actions for h,j,k,l.
Now when u execute the mapped key it sends a keystring in game.
In case of the example u want to send the keystring "hjkl" to exceute the spells in the priority howling blast>Frost strike>obliterate>blood strike.

On the palys bind divine storm to key "h", crusader strike to "j" and judgement to "k" to execute the abilitys in the priority ds>cs>judge.

Now u have a perfect dmg rotation by spammingn just one mapped key.

P.S. ofc u can also use different key binds, its just a example. U have also the option to make for each spell a macro in ISboxer and execute the macros in the mapped key.

That's not even fair. Now I know how the pallys t10 will work.
This is going to be nuts... Tricky, but nuts.

So where do you keep your keys at? Do you keep them on far right action bars, and then link them to an actionbar on the left?
Are you mapping ALT+1-9 or CTRL+1-9 to your normal keys hotkeys?

Like you press 3 to spam attack, and ISBoxer is sending ALT+1, ALT+2, ALT+3, ALT+4?

You can just set your keybinds/spells like you are solo playing, just put them to action bars. You can use Bartender addon too, to get more bar slots and after that you can add them to isboxer.

If you use cracked v40 version, setup is different and you need to add those class hotkey folders manual.

I worked on it some last night. Pretty good so far.
I've got a strange issue where looting is making my CPU spike, but I think it's my Garbage addon or another loot filter addon I have.

I killed 2 80s last night outside of HoS. (Dk is still only 75)
One of them logged on their alliance character and called me the N word over and over. Overall, it was a pretty good night.

I need to figure out the perfect pally rotation (with taunt in it, b/c that's lots of dmg). Any ideas?
