Smourne sucks for a tank compared to Gloren.

Why sucks? Do you even played dk as tank outside icc10n? Shadowmourne is best choice for 2 hander stamina tank and yes blood=full stamina these stats expertise/hit **** them 54k (55 with gloren, lol) normal unbuffed with 7k+ dps as tank (at least before the wipe, now idk how are things with dps on wotlk since playing mop, but should be the same) plus if you don't know strength gives parry rating 270 str and aoe proc as off tank on lk making +thread on everything

About the price - the guy's asking advice for best weapon, not for cheap and +- sword

One more thing
You can get Signified Ring of Binding from onyxia25 if you solo tank sindragosa, because armor and defense fall when you change boots and X item with frost resistance and this ring is perfect ( 800 armor / 55 defense + 30 all resistance)

FYI shadowmourne has less stamina compared to glorenzelg.

**** expertise and hit? You might want to disregard amor and stamina while you're at it then. As for the dps, outside of being able to hold your aggro, nobody will give a flying **** about a tank's dps.

270 * 1/4 = 67.5 parry rating. I honestly don't know how much that would be in %, I can only guess it's somewhere between 1-2%. Not that it matters, it'll be much lower after diminishing returns kick in. Shadowmourne's extra avoidance is barely noticable, if anything at all.

Should probably note that one of the big reasons expertise is nice for a Death Knight; heaven forbid that crucial Death Strike that prevents your death gets dodged or parried.

It is pretty interesting to tank with SM, as orc you get bonus 5 expertise, don't forget about that. But for other races use Glorenzerglrgrl and leave SM for your DPS spec. :)
