WotLK Nerves of cold steel

Hello, guys. I'm wondering if Nerves of cold steel works good.
So.. when dk put on 1h weapon in left hand, it first deals 50% damage of that weapon.
Nerves of cold steel 3/3 increases damage of left hand by 25%.
So should it be 75% then or 50% + 50%*25% = 62.5%?
It seems like it is 62.5% now.
Can anyone explain this?

the latter is true, ie, 0.5*1.25=0.625
