I just started a Dwarf Ret Paladin ("Laphroig") who is sitting at level 23. I plan to have him at 90 with maxed Engineering and Enchanting. I'd also like to have an alt BM Hunter eventually sitting at 90 with maxed Jewelcrafting and Alchemy.
Currently, Laphroig has Mining and Blacksmithing (the latter to make some leveling gear and the Enchanting rods). I'm considering maxing Blacksmithing as I level, saving the Enchanting Rods (and Forged Elementium Mindscrusher for transmog), then dropping Blacksmithing for Engineering and leveling that to 600. I would then run Herbalism and Alchemy on my alt, getting the latter to 600, then drop Herbalism for Jewelcrafting and level it through Laphroig's Mining. When that's done, I'll drop Mining on Laphroig and level Enchanting through running old dungeons/raids. Voila, two characters with maxed Enchanting, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, and Alchemy between them.
Am I on the right track? Based on the profession requirements for leveling all of these up to 600, do you have any recommendations for how to level these in a logical and efficient manner?
to my knowledge in MoP you don't need any kind of rods in enchanting past the starter copper rod so if that's the only really 'good' reason you picked Blacksmithing, I suggest you change that

This.
And also, as long as it is 7x XP rate so I assume it'll be easier to level to 90 first and then max you professions.
