Thanks for the input fellas. I made both a priest and a shaman and leveled them to 30, but I think I'm gonna stick with the shaman since I find leveling with it more enjoyable.
Curious though, is there any particular reason why you would say that priest is better than shaman, and vice versa?
And lastly, how do you think enh would do in a double dps comp with ret?
Disc Priest has mana burn and more versatile defensive dispels. They also heal primarily through absorbs, which are mostly instant but susceptible to dispels.
Less offensive, but also a capable Disc Priest is the more difficult of the two to kill.
Resto Shaman has damage buffs for the Ret and their heals are proper heals, which aren't too vulnerable to dispels, but can be interrupted.
More offensive, but less emergency buttons to keep themselves and their partner alive.
Enhancement Shamans are pretty terrible when played with a Ret partner. The team comp has very little capability to catch an enemy or peel. Has no mortal strike. And the comp is extremely vulnerable to simply tunneling the Ret. Ret's personal survivability isn't that awesome, and an Enhancement Shaman is not particularly strong at healing or providing defensives for their partner.
