WotLK security question

a few months ago i took a break from wow and when i came back yesterday i found that my account was hacked. I contacted the warmane staff and recovered it, but my hacker had my account for a few months so my question is: how do i keep him from "recovering" my account the same way i recovered it since he had it for months and had ample opportunity to take screenshots to use as "proof" that the account is his ? and is there a way to strengthen the account security to avoid being hacked (other than two factor authentication) ?

the way staff make you recover your account is by resetting the email to the one used for first registation, so as long as the "hacker" do not have access to that email you are fine
