I've grown all my life as a fan of the Metal genre. All kinds of metal to be precise. As a teenager I grew up listening to the good old Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Lamb of God and so on. But there was this band that I worshiped for a good time of my teenage phase. And that band was Pantera. Pantera was one of those bands that would be seen in all of my CD's, Playlists and so on.
Now, I was extremely dissapointed when I saw what Phil Anselmo did a few days ago. In my personal perspective, Phil Anselmo (ex-lead singer of Pantera) always lived in the shadow of Pantera. He soaked all the fame and money that he could out of that band even after the death of Dimebag Darrell. That's one of the main reasons why Vinnie Paul doesn't want nothing to do with Anselmo as far the gossip goes. But back to the thread;
On last Dimebash 2016, Phil Anselmo decided to do the Nazi salute during his performance and after that same gesture he decided to yell: " White Power! ". When I saw this I was... Shocked? I do know that Phil Anselmo is not a proper "good boy" but that attitude was pushing the limits of good sense, right?
So I was extremely happy when I saw a person standing up against it. Mr. Robb Flynn. Robb Flynn, lead singer of Machine Head, (can't wait to see them 7th February! #Hype) decided to step up and face the well known "bully" of the Metal industry. Quoting Flynn:
Most of the bands, apparently, are afraid to stand up against Phil Anselmo since he was part of a huge page of the Metal history with Pantera. In fact, Flynn exactly states that several bands reported to him several times that Anselmo was racist but just because they love Pantera they won't do nothing about it. Flynn also shared a personal experience where Anselmo bashed Machine Head's work and quoting:If this was Chad from Nickelback, if this was Justin Bieber, if this was Tom Brady, if this was Lars f—ing Ulrich… heads would roll.
Can anyone, you don't even need to be a Metal fan to have an oppinion on this, support a men like this? How does a guy like this still have a place in the industry and how can this guy be performing for kids that are going to the show not just because they love the music itself but because they see idols in the stage?Within 30 seconds of sitting down and talking to him, his drunk *** decided to let me know in no uncertain terms that he hated the ‘nig-er’ era of Machine Head, referring to our third and fourth album, The Burning Red.

Who cares dude, his music is still good why should his actions reflect on the industry? Why should they be punished? That was a direct quote from Robb Flynn and what he said was that if it was any kind of "superstar" the whole world would go down. I'm pretty sure that, for example, if it was Justin Bieber pulling one move like this one (and I hate that kid) the whole media would stop and bash the kid for doing that. That's the thing that Flynn points out on the video; People should react to such action.
Why should they be punished? Go into the street in Germany and make a nazi salute. See what happens to you immediatly. Not only in Germany but in many places of Europe. Your freedom ends when you step in my freedom. That's pure common sense. Just because you don't care about society it doesn't mean you can simply spit on it. You'll have consequences for each action that you decide to take.
I do agree with you that Religions do brain wash people. I'm an atheist myself for multiple reasons. But that doesn't mean I should go outside and spit on the cross of Christianism or in the Koran of the muslism just because, does it? The pointless protests don't start through this. Protests start thanks to several extremists groups that brain wash people and abuse several delicate situations to try to make an awful position through certain situations.
Plus you're talking about the American culture itself. Did you ever study the american history? Do you know how much the afro-americans actually suffered to have the freedom that they have this days?

Metal was not made for ignorants. I'm also pretty sure that I've seen more bands than you and supported them way more than you giving them money for their albums and gig's. If you support those sort of actions I feel sorry for your education 'cause most of this same bands state that they don't support racism or xenophobic attitudes.
