WotLK The right weapons for Combat Rogue

Hey there

As the title says, I want to know which weapons to run with as a Combat Rogue. Someone told me Axes and Swords are the ones to run with but with these weapons I can´t use skills like Backstab and Ambush. So i wanted to ask you guys just to be sure.

Depends,but yes,most builds use axes and swords for obvious reasons,as combat you don't need to use backstab or ambush(also you don't use openers in combat spec,unlike assasinate rogues whom start from stealth with Garrote or Mutilate - this depends on raid/group setup,unless theres a need for cc/stun on a specific mob).In combat you rely on Auto attacks,SS,Eviscerate(low damage sadly because of bugs but its still worth using with high amounts of arp) and rupture(in lower levels of gear and arp,as long as you have the t9 bonus for it).Aim for a slow mainhand weapon(sword and axes),and a fast offhand weapon(s&a),keep up s&d,and line up your cooldowns so you'll get a better overall damage(don't use adrenaline rush and killing spree together!).Use Instant poison on mh weapon,and deadly poison on oh.

You don't use Backstab and Ambush as Combat. So yes, you will use swords or axes. A slow one in your main hand and a quick one in your off hand. There are multiple rogue guides you can read as well.
