1. Server channels.

I thought that you could do what many MMORPGs do: create different channels for a server. What I mean with that is having a server under the name Icecrown, which would sum players in Channel 1 and Channel 2. So, at the login screen, you could select "Icecrown Ch 1" or Icecrown Ch 2". This way you could avoid having queues, realm could increase in population even more and things to optimize the server, like the /who restriction and the vision range in cities like Dalaran, could be set to major usability instead of the performance aim.

I guess this would exist having two physical servers, being updated to each other live. I guess that's how it works. Since, from what I read, you are using the best hardware you can get access to, I do not know about the balanace - if you could maintain another cost like that.

Anyway, I guess the idea is nice since it is implemented in almost every MMO out there.

    Thank you for reading.

  2. This sort of thing wasn't implemented in WoW until recent years on live, and even then, it's automatic based on population density. WoW is an old game, so it's difficult to build these sorts of things into the game. Even more difficult for those of us in the private sector. The likelihood of us being able to implement this feasibly are slim. And if we do implement such a thing, it will be a long while before we do.
