Where do I start gearing? Just hit 80 and I got a 2.2k GS so basically heroics are a no go. Is there some sort of guide pointing out stuff that I can get outside heroics and for the content released so far on Lordaeron? Any input?

First thing you need to do is pile some gold. You can do so by questing for the certain reputation factions. Next thing to do is learn your class, adjust your talents, glyphs and get used to the rotation for PvE. Next on the list is getting all the crafted gear from tailoring, a good suggestion is starting off with Ebonweave gloves and robes which will boost your GS and give you the much needed hit raiting. You can get those for about 300g each. Next on the list is your cloak, again from tailoring, its worth about 800g. Compleate quest chains in storm peaks and icecrown for easy blues. To sum it up its basically all about gold and playing the AH, buying upgrades, enchants, gems etc. once you build a solid 3k gs you can do ToC normal spam. Getting everything from there should put you at around 3.7ish gs PvE gear. From there its easy heroics spam. Good luck and may the

a little update since I've just hit 3.8k gs; here's what I did:
2x runed mana band off the AH and a neck piece again from jewelcrafting
shoulder and robe from the pvp set
ebonweave gloves from tailoring
mithril pocketwatch from direbrew fest boss
at this point I started farming toc normal and got pretty much everything caster from in there
titansteel spellblade and a blue off hand from the AH (later upgraded to faces of doom/ iron-bound tome; really easy mats)
at this point I started farming emblems and first thing I got was the caster neck piece with haste
gear above is part pvp oriented but in heroics (low hit cap) performs perfectly. i've been topping dps in most occasions and with people with higher gs in party.
im not sure how I should go about rings right now since I've never seen the caster ring in toc normal drop and the emblems one seems a bit meh. might go the argent crusade rep way.

Have you farmed ashen veredict rep yet? BiS ring should raise your gs quite a bit.

Well it depends on the spec you are going for. If you want to go destro all the way, simply stack crit+haste. If you want to go aff and demo at some point stack only haste. On my lock I got the 213 valor ring, which is pretty much as good as it gets. Also have the 245 ring with triuphs. While I didnt have that i was also aiming for that argent crusade rep ring, not a bad ring. The ulduar crafted boots is the next thing on my list. Also play destro untill you can reach 650 haste unbuffed, at which point you can get demo to be as good as destro. Affliction is out of the question you need 800+ unbuffed haste for it to be good.
