I hope it has not been discussed already.
It would be supremely useful if players could merge their multiple account to one. The majority of players have their alts located on different accounts which is greatly troublesome when one does have google authenticator on and dynamic IP adresss. Besides once accounts are merged database could be cleared from inactive accounts which undoubtedly would increase its conditionand stability. It is obvious that premium benefits should not be merged but despite that players would really like to have such possibility. Thank you for your feedback.

Inactive accounts being removed after merging accounts would certainly increase the condition and stability of the database you say? What do you even mean by the "condition" of the database? Is this "increase in condition" you talk of, just a strange way of saying "decrease in size"?

Could you please explain how any of this is going to "undoubtedly" increase stability?

I get that you want accounts merged, but simply inventing magical benefits for the server, with the portal based logic of your mind, doesn't actually aid your argument.

Furthermore, why do you need to login to all your accounts with authenticator all the time? Surely it is to vote? If not then what else requires frequent logging with authenticator?

If it IS to vote... then surely just not voting on all but one account would have the exact same result as merging all the accounts to one account? Since you don't need to authenticate to log into the game.

This kind of account merge tool can be easily exploited by hackers. There had been numerous suggestions that are similar to this (character transfers between their own accounts. almost account-merge), but they were all shutdown because of security concerns. Definitely something I would appreciate until my account gets gangbanged.

First of all you should consider the fact that we already had such inactivity clean up which according to the old Molten Staff helped to maintain stability of the server.
Next thing is, some internet providers (like mine) use dynamic ip adresses and therefore everytime I relog in game from one account to another I have to verify using the code.

I don't even understand what OP is talking about at this point.

You wanted a tool that could merge your two accounts because you have google authenticator with dynamic IP. So, you have to look at your google authenticator everytime you log in to your other account to play your alt characters. According to my understanding, you claim that because merging 3 accounts into 1 will result in 1 overall account, it will save space in database.

I said, this could be exploited by hackers and there had been previous suggestions similar to these (character transfer between their own accounts, basically merging multiple accounts into one). I informed you that all these previous suggestions got shutdown by forum moderators because of security concerns. I made a little joke about "It would be nice until s*** gets to me" and you are so fast to conclude that my tone is "insolent".

I just wanted to give you some information that I know and you didn't appreciate it because I disagreed with you.

But I guarantee. Sooner or later, forum moderator will come here and say the same thing; Security concerns. Why? Because it is true.

I doubt such service would be abusable, especially if one would have to link two accounts by logging each separately. But whatever you say mate, I've not been ungrateful and I have not replied to your post Zelda1220 but to the previous one. Sorry if you were somehow mistaken.

Warmane is very careful when it comes to account security, and even if we think it is not abuse-able, they will approach it very VERY carefully. (which is, well, good thing for us.)

That is not merging accounts, but transferring Deathwing & Ragnaros characters into Icecrown. (Merging SERVERS) They named it very poorly. Confuses new players.

Oh wait, I looked into it and they changed it alittle.

So, what's going on is because one account can have only up to 10 characters in one realm, when they were merging Deathwing & Ragnaros, some players would end up with more than 10 characters in one realm.

They came up with an idea to kind of "store" the characters in database and you can select which characters to play on website and switch up characters from database. Apparently, it didn't kind of work out as they wanted, so they gave options to put those "excess" characters into a newly created account.

This isn't what the OP wants. He wants to put 2 accounts into 1, so transferring characters on one account to another entirely.

People get their accounts stolen all the time. It's because they do not secure their accounts enough but it's still a problem. If that happens they can get their accounts back. But if there was account merge feature someone who manages to gain access to an account could merge it with another account and get all characters transferred to it. That would make recovering stolen accounts more complicated.

Also they did not want to make any character transfers between accounts possible other than character trading. Otherwise it could be used to sell and transfer characters between accounts and pay for them in a different way, which is not allowed.
