I made a thread in the MOP server forum asking why this wasnt already the case but due to no one really saying why im making this.

So, in 5.4 MoP had a conquest catchup system, for those that didnt play back then (or in wod) - if you started late you had a way bigger cap then 2.2k - in fact near the end of the season you could farm up to 30k+ conquest points before you reached the limit for the week (once you got the 30k+ done the next week was back to 2.2k + rating increase). This was in place so that the people starting late werent totally outclassed and unviable in pvp.

In MoP this cap increased the later you started, however here that doesnt work as such as the gear doesnt move upwards, i.e if a new season starts people will already be at 550, so the natural new seson catchup mechanic is not in place. This would make it so that if you dinged 90 early in the season you are totally screwed.

Now, what i would propose is to make a flat 20k conquest cap for new players - this allows them to get the majority of the gear and be competetive but it still leaves a fair bit of grind to do to get perfectly geared. It was that way back in MOP (not as such sure, but you could actually get more conquest once people actualy had 550 gear) and ever since (till legion sort of removed gear from pvp).
