Technical I cannot make your game client work. Please help a new player.

I'm new to the wow private servers , I downloaded the "Wrath of the Lich King Expension from your download link. When I open the wow.exe, the game opens up in a smaller resolution. I can get to the log in screen just fine , but as soon as I try to type my login info or even click options, the game locks up and I'm forced to reboot my laptop. Keep in mind that I can play guildwars 2 with no problems.

I was wondering if this is just an expansion and I need the original wow then to add these files to it maybe ? Is their something I'm missing ?

I just found out I had to Edit \Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf to -> set realmlist logon.warmane.com .

It still doesn't work and now is even making my laptop crash. Is their a guide on how to play you Warbane Icecrown server ?

I think I know what I did wrong , I was renaming the text file realmlist.ftw and not changing the content inside of it .
Incasse people have the same issue , you need to open Notepad then click File in the top right corner of Notepad once its opened , followed by clicking Open ..

Now you will have a new window titled " Open " open up. You then need click the down arrow next to Text Documents (*.text) and change it to " All Files ".
Now you will be able to see the text files, now locate your wow folder and open the realmlist.ftw text file .
Now delete whats inside of it and replace it with ( set realmlist logon.warmane.com )
Click save and exit notepad
I would recommend to double check to make sure the content inside this text file has been changed .
Now double click wow.exe and have fun playing.
