1. A new gold squish suggestion for the blizz-like realm

(sorry english is not my language so I use google translate to help me)

    Hello everyone,

I am pretty new on Warmane and I play on Lordaeron. I knew this story of gold squish the 30 december from your web site and I was surprised by this news. But I was not afraid because I have just some golds with my level 26 main character ^^

I understand and I approve the will to limit economic inflation. This is really dangerous for a perenniality/quality of a realm and it is a public utility to take this subject very seriously. But cut in half all existing gold is for me a not enough elaborate decision. I find that it is very unfortunate for a beautiful community such as yours.

I explain my vision. The inflation is generated by an accumulation of money. Where a rich player can buy something overpriced, and the selling player reassured of his abused sale will continue in this direction for his prices. This is not the small players who generate inflation, because if they don't have a buyer they will have to lower their prices. And Thinking about the lack of will to each one to go to collect his resources, is not the cause of inflation, but a influential factor for it.

So, the inflation is only generated by those who own a lot of money, only they can decide to buy or sell at any price. Only them make rules.

And to be rich ; I don't know for others realms, I speak for the nice blizz-like concept of Lordaeron, where no store web site system can create gold in the world (only change hands by the trade system), there is only one solution : play. And particulary play where the most money is created : on endgame content quests that give the most.

So, the problem comes from the level 80, and particulary from the oldest active players who can join the endgame content (like crafts from maxed profession or access to unbound rare item like recipe or component) and juggling with golds for a long time.

Then, I would like to offer you a new vision of the "gold squish" where the smaller players will be less impacted and the older players no more disturbed than the initial version of gold squish : a gold division by two.

Divide by two any gold for level 80 players and gradually less for lower level should be good, but the smart ones will transfer everything on low level characters. So to avoid this counter production, we can think to a ranking level range : the gold will be divided by two but a new rule comes, where according to the level of each character, the gold never will go lower than a defined total amout.

And sure we keep all previous rules of division by two for all existing gold in guild bank and actions, bind actions, etc. Changes are only for each player.

So here, some ideas of defined total amount of gold, a minimum amount of gold to keep for each character after this new gold squish, that will be the amount of the addition of gold in mail + inventory :
Level 1 to 9 : 1 gold minimum at least conserved.
Level 10 to 19 : 100 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 20 to 29 : 500 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 30 to 39 : 1000 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 40 to 49 : 2000 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 50 to 59 : 4000 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 60 to 69 : 6000 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 70 to 79 : 8000 golds minimum at least conserved.
Level 80 : 10000 golds minimum at least conserved.
-> I find that is some moderate values, but it's mostly to show my idea !
I suggere to privilege the smaller players (except everything of fresh new character, to avoid the interested exchange by some smart rich players which could create lot of low level characters for store gold... but we can also create more level range!) who does not act as much as the big players on the inflation.

    - So a 200k golden player will keep 100k golds at any level after the gold squish, no change for him.
    - A player with 15k will keep 7,5k golds at any level but up to 8k golds at level 70 to 79 or up to 10k golds at level 80.
    - A player with 1500 golds will keep 750 golds at any level below 29 but 1000 at level 30 to 39 and keep all his 1500 golds at 40 and more.
    - And sure, if you have zero, you stay at zero (for those who don't understand this ranking and who believe I propose to add gold for every level... read again mate ! xD)

As you see, with this idea, the fresh players, those who can't really generate inflation, will not be impacted as much than old rich players, those who can potentially generate the most inflation. Only those judged "big profiteer according to their level" will really pay. I think this is really fair for everyone who wants to avoid inflation, and keep a certain amount of gold to anyone who have hardly accumulated some golds and I think especially for some of us don't use the auction system (no, we don't all like the capitalist auction system and some of us prefer to see directly the customer to whom we sell, particulary if you like or do some roleplaying).

It is maybe too late to suggere this now for the actual 1st Jan gold squish but it will be for next (it must come, because we need it to maintain an economic peace in our world), I think my idea fits good to the whole Lordaeron communauty.

That's all for my idea, I let you do whatever with that ^^

    ---

I know I am still a young here. And that I don't know all the possibilities of development of a player on Lordaeron but believe me it is of the greatest sincerity and for the best experience of all of us that I proposed that. After that if I'm wrong, I'm glad to hear you tell me. Since I play feral druid, I think a bit like a beast now and I may be saying something stupid, sometimes^^

Thank you for reading of this wall of text and Happy New Year everyone !
