1. PC crashes on WoW startup

So I downloaded the wotlk client and everytime I run it (I ran it normally first, then as administrator, then W7 compatibility mode, same result) my PC crashes. I just get a black screen. I cant alt+F4 ot ctrl+alt+del or anything. Black screen and that's it.

I think it *might* be that my monitor doesn't support the default resolution, since it's an old plasma monitor. I've tried updating my video drivers and nothing.

How can I change resolution from outside the game if there is not config.wtf file? What else can I do to make the game work?

    Thanks in advance !

  2. You can create a WTF\Config.wtf yourself by simply using a notepad. Give the configuration below a go, otherwise I will copy-paste you my entire config:

    SET locale "enUS"
    SET realmList "logon.warmane.com"
    SET gxWindow "1"
    SET gxResolution "1920x1080"
    SET gxRefresh "50"
    SET gxMultisample "8"
    SET gxMultisampleQuality "0.000000"
    SET gxFixLag "0"
    SET movie "0"
    SET readTOS "1"
    SET readEULA "1"

  3. It worked ! I just changed the resolution on the config you posted to my monitor's native resolution. Thank you very much! I can finally play now.
