What's next in development for Cataclysm?

    Hello!

I was wondering what's next in development for the Cataclysm server?
We know that the work in Cata is mainly spells etc. But will there be other fixes soon aswell?
The Devlog does not provide information about the direction of development at this moment for quests, PvP and PvE content.

Also, alot of cataclysm players are concerned that the realm will close soon.. Can we have a red or green light about this?

    Have a nice day!

p.s. this thread does not have as topic changing to another expansion, please refrain from posting such comments.

Cataclysm is not exactly the prime focus as you can see. We're nearly done with Tol Barad, just need a for core systems to be prepared by our reverse engineer and it'll be release ready.

Getting a list of priority issues would be the next step after Burning Crusade's launch and then tending to them. We haven't worked much on the PvE side but the PvP side has received a lot of work in the past year. We're nearly close to perfection in terms of classes from our perspective at least.

We are not quite giving up on Cataclysm but the amount of work put into the realm is the amount we specified in the announcement and discussion we had previously.

The discussion (I imagine) in question:

Can we get a similar update for Frostwolf?

Thank you kindly for your reply.
About the PvP side I meant new BG's arena's etc. and fixing WoW-errors in for example Battle for Gilneas. The class work I understand :)
It would be lovely to see some fixes to questing zones and simple evade bugs (causing many quests and bosses to be bugged/nearly undoable).
Also the Anti-cheat got heavier lately, bugging a few more quests.

I could also mention raids and dungeons, but I have read a reply from you that raid and dungeon reworks are not in the pipeline (for now).

Thanks again, and I hope that one day Green_Dev (or someone else) can continue his work on Cataclysm :)

I see some calling for Neltharion to just be closed or merged with MoP (which is the same thing). I don't think it EVER will make business sense for Warmane to close any expansion, because it sets a bad business precedent. I mean, if they close Neltharion then suddenly the Frostwolf players will start to get nervous, wondering if they are next. Guys who are wondering if they should donate for gear now know that Warmane has never closed down an expansion completely. That won't be true if Neltharion gets the ax. That will make people less likely to donate on Frostwolf.

It doesn't cost much at all just to keep a small server like Neltharion going, hosting-wise. The real expense is in paying devs for bug fixes and the like.

That being the case, I think Warmane made the smart business decision in deciding not to close Neltharion.

I do think they might need to consider adding mercenary mode for bgs- if there are 12 alliance in queue and 8 horde, let a 10 man bg pop with 2 of the alliance as horde in mercenary mode. Other small servers have done that and it's the best alternative imo.

I wish that CATA could have a huger base of players. I loved playing cataclysm before, but now i don't think it's worth it because there are barely 400 ppl on.
