1. What's the story with Ganking

I'm working in Honor Hold / Outland with a level 64 hunter.
I've died a bunch of times. Killed by Kuzghan who is standing around the grave yard and killing me every time I rez.
    These are Honorless kills right?
Don't we have some policy around ganking?
PVP is fine. I'm not a fan, but I can deal with normal ganking.
I passive my pet often to avoid being killed when the pet attacks a player.

BUT being invisible - either by skill or cheat - and waiting at a graveyard to kill a player in a town seems a little extremem.
Not sure if this dude is cheating but he sure is exploting me for some reason. And it's not Honor Kills.

  2. Well if Cata Expansion hunters have camouflage as well as in MoP.

But here is the story, High lvl sees low lvl. High Level kills low lvl.

    Deal with it.

  3. Thanks.... I'm happy to deal with it. I was asking for a clarification on "Kills without honor". I have seen messages saying something like: "SoandSo achieved an honorable kill" But that message never appeared as I was being ganked. I recall from the past that if my pet attacks back when a player attacks then the player gets an honorable kill even tho I did not participate, but that if neither me or my pet participates, the kill is not Honorable.

Does the ganker still get "credit" in some way for dishonorable kills?

So in effect Ganking is encouraged in this "implementation" of the game?

Just trying to understand the rules. Not complaining about having to Rez a dozen times. Guess I'll avoid hanging around the grave yard too long after rez to make a little harder for these folks.

  4. When they do that, get on global chat or tell your guild, and some tryhard like me will come and annihilate them for sport. Then they will call for help from their buddies and there will be 9 of them ganking Thrallmar and killing your tryhard, who will then call for help from his buddies, and it will continue to escalate this way until there are 20 max level people from each faction brawling it out in Hellfire Peninsula and it's the most fun any of us will ever have on the server.

There was a "dishonor" system in the vanilla version of the game, but it didn't work out very well. So it was removed.
Currently, in order to get an honorable kill, two conditions have to be met.
#1. The target has to be within 10 levels of you.
#2. If the target has a buff/debuff on them that tags them as worth no honor, they will not be worth an honorable kill. This image may explain it a tad: http://i.imgur.com/ScExpeO.png

As the other posters have spoken to the effect of, there is a lot of ganking in the game. Much of it is done in the fashion of "griefing", which is to cause trouble or 'grief' to the other person because they think it is funny, or they are spiteful for some reason or another.

  6. Just type in general chat and some1 will come. I love to help and to have some world pvp

  7. Don't we have some policy around ganking?
Nope. Blizzard has NEVER had a policy on ganking and Warmane goes right off of Blizzards rules a %100. It sucks I know, but you get over it. The more time you spend in the game, the less you really do care. I get ganked on lowbies all the time, but I just don't care anymore either way. A smart player always has a back up plan or a plan B. that which is an emergency back up toon to play until the ganking is over. Take it from a long time "veteran" player. Ganking doesn't matter if you don't let it matter.

  8. It's all about spreading the joy.. After levelling up from 1 to 80, I spent an entire week slaughtering lowbies in multiple areas to give something back to the community.

  9. It's easy to explain.
Horde are scum and must be killed if the chance arises.

If an Ally ganks a Horde, it's justice.
If a Horde ganks an Ally it's griefing.

  10. yeah its really cool having 4 alliance hover over thrallmar for an hour being a bunch of children.

  11. What's the story with ganking threads? Study finds they're still being made on a regular basis. "No end in sight" researchers say.

  12. some day when you grow up and get gud you will understand. there is nothing better than popping a lowbie.

  13. All I know is that if you did this in mop, you might attract the veiled blade group to your location, if you are a rogue, they will find you and will root you out.

If you know the lore behind veiled blade, you know how these players react to gankers.

  14. There was a "dishonor" system in the vanilla version of the game, but it didn't work out very well
If I recall it correctly, dishonorable kills only worked on low level horde flagged NPCs, never did in PvP.
