Would it be absolutely impossible to implent what Blizzard did in 4.2.0?
That would be that you could change character positions in character log-in screen.

It'd make sense to waste time on that if you spent more than 3 minutes total looking at the char select screen per day if you play all day long.
And it's your own launcher specific, if you're up to it you can do it by yourself.
Learn assembly and modify the wow.exe by yourself, that seems pretty straight forward and all the help I can give to you is OllyDbg which should help out a lot there.
