Technical Question Regarding Inactivity Account Wipes

I believe it is something around every 6 months(?) accounts are wiped for inactivity-- but I have been told accounts that have donated are not included in this.

I know two people who want to come back to Warmane after a long run on retail, but they can't now because their accounts are gone. Both say they were premium and donated for a few items at least back when they played. Is there a certain threshold for how much in donations is needed before they are not included in inactivity wipes?

I ask because I also have a friend who has not played for more than a year, but I still see her character on the Armory. She has paid well over $200 USD, though, and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.

there isn't any " account wipe every 6 months for inactivity".

Recently they made just a clean up of Characters Name from inactive characters ( and deleted some inactive lvl 1 characters).
So, no account has ben disabled.

Yes, donor account are immune to "character deletion", but it is soemthing they do rarely.

Maybe your 2 friends from retail played here before of moltdown?
Maybe their character were on a realm who got morged and they did not active the merge? But for sure Their accoutn are active/usable

About your female friend, if you see her character on Armory it means everything is fine. So what is her problem? She do not remeber account info to log-in?

As the skullbashat mentioned, if you played on wotlk and didn't retrieve characters after the merge then sadly you can't do it now. As for friend that has name on armory, you can see for example last achievements of that character to see if it's active and someone has that name simply.
