Technical WOW keeps kicking me to window desktop screen, game running fine in background

this is odd, hasn't happened before but everytime i run WOW.exe it starts up fine and shows the game is working but it keeps kicking me back to desktop screen. i click the wow icon that already started at the bottom again and it starts the game (login screen) then kicks me right back to desktop while the game is still running in the background? im running this on a laptop. anyone experience anything like this and have a solution?

I deleted my client and downloaded it again. This time the game initially ran in windowed mode and worked fine but the moment I changed settings to full screen which is how i'm used to playing it the same issue I mentioned in the first post kept happening. So I deleted the Account name folder in WTF/account in wow folder and it started the game again in windowed mode so the culprit at the moment is the game is not letting me run in full screen mode and kicking me out to desktop each time I open wow.exe
