1. User Settings not being saved!

Hello, I recently downloaded WotLK and my user settings doesn't seem to get saved, i.e. screen resolution. Every time I close the game and open again later all the settings are reset to default and have to agree to the first time rules agreement. How can I fix this?

  2. right click wow folder. Uncheck the box that says ready only or something like that. also place wow under C:\\wow not C:\\xx\\wow. hope this helps.

  3. You should also check if the Config.WTF file is in "Read-Only" state. If you cannot make any changes to that file, your settings will never save.
    1. Open the folder containing WoW.
    2. Navigate into the WTF folder.
    3. Right-Click the Config.WTF and select Properties.
    4. Uncheck the box that is labeled "Read-Only".

You could run the WoW Program as Administrator and make your changes there. It should save even though the file is Read-Only.

  4. Thanks for the response, unchecking the Read-Only from properties solved the issue. Out of curiosity and desire to learn , can anyone explain to me why I had this issue and why doing the uncheck solves it?

It solves it because, unchecking the Read-Only property you are able to do some sort of changes to the client, thats all, nothing more special.
