1. Connection is awful, no reason it should be.

    Hey y'all, I'm playing on Icecrown and my connection is consistently terrible. I'm talking latency upwards of 7k and frozen game for minutes at a time. There is absolutely NO reason it should be this way; my PC is well capable of running WoW at max specs, I'm getting 100+/50 internet speeds, I've opened all the proper ports on both my router and my firewall and I've set my PC and WoW itself to run high priority on my router. I played on a different PC last night at someone else's house and my connection was spot on. What the hell is going on here? Anyone have any ideas?

  2. How many people using your home network? I assume you are connecting via Wi-Fi. Try using a different wifi adaptor. Almost all android and apple iphones have a usb-tethering feature that allows you to use the phone as a wifi adaptor using a usb cable. The spec of your router makes a big impact. Other people using the internet at the same time as you could cause latency issues.

    Also where are you located ? AFAIK all the servers are located in europe. I connect from new zealand and have 300ms stable ping - it doesnt get any better for me.

    Try using a different wifi adaptor and let me know how you get on. I am a computer technician by trade and can help you sort this out step by step.

    Also, open an elevated command prompt (if windows 7 search in start menu for cmd, right click it and "run as administrator". if windows 8.1/10, right click the start button and select open command prompt (admin). In the CMD prompt type the following;

    tracert logon.warmane.com

    and copy paste in your reply whatever tracert comes back with. i assure you this is completely safe. you can private message the tracert to me if you prefer . it may take a minute or two depending on how stable or convoluted your connection path is. tracert basically just shows you how many different ip addresses your traffic has to get across to get to the server.

    let me know how you get on.
