Merging from Cata to MoP realm

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if they are ever going to able character swapping from one expansion to another (Always from a lower expansion to a higher one). Currently the realm I'm playing (Neltharion) is dead, literally DEAD. No one does pvp or raids anymore and It's super frustrating to see that the time I invested on that realm is going to go to nothing if I start fresh on mop.

Question is: are they ever going to able this type of system? I really don't want to start fresh on another realm if I have a character laying around that will probably have chances to be merged to the mop realm.

Staff once asked Neltharion players if they wanted to merge into Frostwolf. Since the majority of polls were against it, there was no merging. Iirc, Staff said that Neltharion would be kept running even if only a handful of players were interested in it. Thus, a full server merge is probably not going to happen.

As for character transfer, it's an idea that's been bounced about for some time now, though there haven't been any confirmations from staff yet. That is to say, I wouldn't wait for that feature to start playing on another realm. You could try leveling a class you're interested in, but don't have on Neltharion to optimize. In MoP PvP, you can be significantly geared in 1-2 weeks and completely in approximately a month and a half (only if you start before season reset). Good luck!
