    Catchup

    Just started on the server, I like the extra exp so I can reach 80 faster, but is there anything in place to deal with the fact that I'm going to be seriously lacking in gold and gear while leveling?

    The gold should come while you are leveling. Collect all the cloths that drop, sell on AH. Get anything that might be of value on the AH and sell it. REP Grind at 80 or try to find a leveling guild or something that will help you as you play. You can also donate to get items if you CBA to grind everything, but you don't have to. Read around the forums and do some research into wotlk.
