1. What will you roll in classic?

So like the title states, which class will you be rolling in classic?
Thinking either a enhance shammy or elemental
Not sure i want to play tank again after doing it on another private server, getting geared to AQ40 and somehow losing my char after 6 months of inactivity.

  2. Either mage or warlock. :) Most likely warlock due to most likely classic progressing to tbc.But most likely il dual box mage/warlock :)

  3. if ACTIVISION-blizzard can't deliver an adequately authentic experience, nothing. I won't be paying a subscription to play a poor facsimile of what Nost tried to be. 90% they're going to add QoL changes and poll the community on **** to add like rdf and microtransactions and it's going to be a **** show. But if it somehow turns out to not be awful goodbye warmane im making an enhancement shaman there

  4. Half the classes/specs are useless in pvp vanilla so it'd either be rogue or mage.

  5. Definitely Monk. They are ****in OP in Classic.

  6. I might go Prot Paladin...maybe...not sure yet

  7. rogue/mage
    lock/war when t3

    others are garbage

  8. I have no idea how does classic works, but ill be a shaman or a druid

  9. Holy Priest
Just so i can dps as holy on Loatheb

  10. This is a troll thread, right? It must be, since half of the replies mention specs which are not even viable.

Thinking either a enhance shammy or elemental
Good. So you will be doing only PvP and nothing else but PvP since these 2 specs are only viable there. Nobody will take you anywhere beyond dungeons as elemental. You will only get a spot as Enh if you have Nightfall and there will be only one spot for a Nightfall bot (that's what you'll be called, and you will probably be last on DPS anyway).

    ill be healer or healer
There, fixed it for you. You're welcome.

Anyway, I'm currently leveling a rogue on a vanilla server, waiting for official legacy to come out. And yes, there will most likely be changes. I hope they'll be for the better.

If you're gonna be one of "those guys" and say "no changes, keep it pristine" - save your breath and kys, ty. If you want vanilla to be pristine, there are private servers out there offering it. Legacy won't be, that's for sure. I'll just hop there to see if I like it - if not, I'll hop back on that vanilla server. Crying out loud and acting like a bish about it won't change much, it will just make you look like Alexensual.

  11. Hopefully they do put in the good features for it tbh

  12. Honestly, lots of people want a classic wow as it was, and I can't blame them, but I will be honest, a lot of that is nostalgia, we all know pretty damn well that plenty of classes and specs are useless...

I DO NOT want them to make extreme changes and have everyone be a healer (rogues with recuperate ...sigh), but small changes like druid moonkin form not give attack power but rather spellpower...Buffs lasting at least 10 minutes (or like wotlk having versions that last up to 1h). I honestly see no fun in playing a class that is exclusively buffing.
That doesn't mean I don't understand the vanilla feel where paladins aren't supposed to be on par with warriors, I like the idea of them being a mix, where they are capable tanks/melee fighters but their purpose is to support the group overall, yet warriors should still be top tanks, because of class fantasy.

Same thing with priests, sure they can be shadow and deal some damage, but they should not be competing with true damage casters, hence a reason to have something like dual spec available, best thing to ever happen honestly.

Basically keep the idea that classic tried to convey, some classes are inherently better at certain roles, don't try to homogenize them like nowadays, but don't butcher the idea of multi spec classes either, make them viable in certain scenarios rather than complete junk or simply a chore to play.

Vanilla didn't really have this "some classes are inherently better at certain roles" mentality, it was "some classes are literally the only choice because of terrible design" mentality. Warriors weren't the only tanks because they were better but rather because both prot paladins and feral druids lacked any kind of cohesion in their talents/toolkit. Paladins couldn't hold threat on bosses, had no taunt and were extremely squishy, they could only tank trivial aoe content in dungeons. Bears couldn't become uncrittable which meant they would just randomly die on bosses without the player being able to do anything. For the longest time, you couldn't even bring a shadow priest to raids because of the debuff cap and even after that was addressed you still wouldn't ever do it unless you had a very high amount of warlocks, in which case the shadow priest wasn't a DPS but rather a debuff bot only there to increase the dps of other players. This is not a case of one spec being better than another, it's a case of one spec having the tools to do its intended job and the other not.

You think homogenization is bad these days? Haha. Welcome to vanilla, where your class has only one spec, one type of tier gear for that one spec and every single member of that class is that spec. Such diversity!
