Technical Application won't open/run on my mac

Hello people,
I have a problem. I downloaded the mac version of wotlk. The download went smoothly, but when I try to run the wow.exe it tells me: The application "world of warcraft" can't be opened.

It doesn't tell me what is not working, though. Can anyone help me get it running?
