How active is PvP here? Arenas mainly also BGs

Looking to start playing on Warmane again and would be interested in doing arenas & BGs with a friend. We want to level here but eventually PvP and raid on the side.

Pretty active, or better off going to Blackrock for that and PvE'ing here? Average queue times for arenas? BGs?

Well everyone and their mother has a shadowmourne, even at 200 ratings.
Since theres coin shop, aka pay2win , u'll have a hard time getting a better player by playing normally.
Even 10 icc nm requires 6k gs , which is stupid if u ask me
Myself imma give it a try for Lordaeron, to see how it is. 4k pop seems low imo, but if u think about it , 12k on iccecrown : 1-2k bots ( gets banned daily but theyre created anytime , 500 or more, multiboxers for wintergrasp domination , 5-6k BIS people, 1-2k shadowmourne users, and the rest, ... the rest

well bgs are always vs a premade , most of the time at least . either you are playing horde or alliance. so solo Queing can be really frustrating at times.

BGs is perma Alliance win so dont roll horde.
