1. Blacklisting the word "script"

It might be surprising for somes, or could be felt like a daily assumption to be going through while playing arenas for others.
Over the past years, as an arena player, spectating the community in this matter overall, I have to admit that I do find it less enjoyable to be into this competitive part of World of Warcraft.

What has became usual, after a majority of games, is that there is always somebody to be accusing someone else of scripting.
May it be because of the frustration after losing a game, the need for an insult, being a troll, or in rare situations stating real facts (which could be done through a ticket).

Before scripts were actually a thing, I do not remind an amount of players speaking in that way, but instead thinking of facts on what has been good or wrong during an arena game.

I would suggest banning the word script in game, making it impossible to be sent in the chat.

  2. And then the other 1000s of words which each snowflake finds abusive. Move on , kids. Stop being snowflakes. One person's opinion does not change who you are.

  3. And then the other 1000s of words which each snowflake finds abusive. Move on , kids. Stop being snowflakes. One person's opinion does not change who you are.
I'm not certain if there has been similar threads with different words ban suggested, that is only my suggestion concerning the matter.
P.S. I love snowflakes, winter still have a short way to go.

  4. they'd have to ban literally every possible variant of the word for that to do anything. people can be very creative with bypassing a censor. just look at gold sellers.

Of course yes there's always a way to get through such a restriction by being a little more creative, but it's a feature that can be used still.
I've always seen this specific word personally since years that's why I thought about it in particular.

  6. What if I want to use the word "script" when talking to someone about topics related to programming, including WoW addon programming? Are you saying that I should not be able to do it? You can't just ban random words. Those who want to use them to abuse something, will find a way around it. It only negatively affects those who want to use those words in regular conversations that are completely unrelated to the reason you want the word banned.

  7. Yeah pretty ridiculous to ban the word script.

  8. I don't quite understand why being called a scripter is offensive or repulsive in any way (aside from being non-charismatic enough to not have the complete trust of a stranger?).
If you're being rightly accused of being scripter, you've obviously been found out and should stop or get banned; improving the experience of others.
If you're not a scripter, it might as well be a compliment - you're so good at this game that someone else finds your reflexes and/or skill inhumanly impressive.
As Anyone stated, this would also significantly hinder discussions of various topics (programming, theatre, etc.) and the use of the /script command that is often used.

If anything should be done in regards to the use of the word 'script/scripting' it should be to spread awareness of the obvious signs of scripting and/or hacking; do not censor the masses, educate them.
