Faction Change With The Splintered Throne quest

hi, i tryed to found some info but nothing mentioned about that

my Guild will Faction change in 1 month or so, so im doing quest for Shadowmourne and im in The Splintered Throne with something like 23 Shadowfrost Shard, my question is: if i perform a faction change, my quest will be resetted or something? like i need to start over to collect shards?, or my shards will be at same in the other faction?, just need to pick the quest again, well, this its important for me since im faming since 3 months, and dont want to lose my progretion, i prefer to not faction change if my shards will reset in the other faction, well ty guis keep up the good work
