1. [ANSWERED]Clarification loot rules raids

    Hello.
I host raids quite often but sadly i have stopped doing this because i do not know how i can make sure the items go to someone who needs it MS.
For example when doing Gruuls and a SP wearing shadowweave shoulders rolls on T4 shoulders and wins the roll, What can i do to not give this item to him and not be at risk to be banned. I always state its MS>OS yet ppl still try to get items for offspec claiming its for MS. however i do not believe someone downgrade a BiS item whit T4.

So the question here is how can i as raidleader make sure a person for wich the item is a upgrade gets it, and not someone who is already wearing a BiS item.

I have seen alot of ridiculous things in puggs that i have joined and when i confront some raidleaders about loots going to ppl who are going to downgrade (or so they claim) they say they cannot deny him loot or will get banned and some have already been banned for doing what in my eyes is the right thing. I do not think a pugg can be called decent unless the raidleader can assure that loots are distributed in a fair way. By this I mean that items will go to ppl for whom it is an upgrade MS and not to ppl who want to downgrade(lets keep it real in almost every case the person is rolling for OS).

I had already made a topic in the outland section where ppl replied that i could say "if an item is an obvious downgrade from what you have equipped in your current specialization, it will be considered off-specialization for you even if usable by your current specialization" or . "MS>OS, Loot master reserves right to veto rolls that are not clear upgrades to current gear".
If I state something like this in my Raid rules will i be allowed to deny loot to someone for wich it is an obvious downgrade?

Please don't see this as criticism on your loot rules I did not make this post for that reason.
I just want to know how i can lead a decent pugg where loots go to ppl who will get an upgrade for MS and this all whitout being at risk to be banned.

Hoping to get a reply soon that explains me how i can make sure loot goes to the right ppl so i can once again host raids :)

  2. If you're absolutely certain that the item the person is rolling on is a downgrade for them, then you are permitted to deny the person that loot.

Main-spec vs. Off-spec loot rolling, how it is handled and what is allowed, is obviously up to the raid leader.

Make sure you make the loot rules clear to everyone in your raid beforehand.
