Hey guys,
I'm new to the server and recent premium member. I have a guild on icecrown thats fresh with a bunch of new guys to the server as well. Were gearing up diffrerent tiers to do progression in each raid tier. I'm being spammed as being a ninja looter because i am needed Ilvl 200 blues/epics for a Naxx 10m Progression group. Is this against the code? Im trying to avoid any issues. But i get spammed with it. I dont see anything wrong with what im doing because that is what my guild is going to do. Run through each tier in a progression style till ICC. Can i get any clarification if this is wrong?
Rolling on items where someone else has priority like a plate dps rolling on def/dodge/parry plate items will be considered ninja cause it's not his Main Spec (MS) but rather his OS (Off spec/Other spec) or he just wants to trade to a friend. Same goes for items with MP5 (x mana per 5 seconds) and caster DPS or hit rating items for healers.
These days people will rage over anything and report pretty much anything they don't like. So hitting need can get a bit tricky in some edge cases. Like if you're a holy paladin and a really nice cloth item drops with sp/crit/haste on it. Of course you need it, it's the perfect stats, buuuut there's clothies in the raid, they should have priority over it I suppose. Same goes for shamans and balance druids. Rather pass it, you can replace it in fos/pos/hor and/or Dalaran vendor.
Thanks for the replies guys, this is mainly aiming at RDF in heroics. People saying im ninja'ing because im just going to DE or sell. which isnt the case
you roll need on gear that is better than you have equiped for the spec your playing in the rdf, rolling need on anything else can be classified as ninjaing.

Bind on Equip items (BOE's) for short are items a lot of people go towards when they try to gear up a fresh 80 character and they go for a rather fair amount of gold in the auction house. For that reason, there is an unspoken rule that these items are all rolled GREED on, since a cloth player cannot NEED on anything but cloth, plate on plate, etc. A greed roll gives equal opportunities for everybody to get the item and doesn't entirely handicap anybody out the opportunity to do so AT ALL.
Saying that DE-ing & selling it isn't the case means nothing to a person who doesn't care what your case is. Black & white, you are looting on an item that is out of your specialization without asking in advance whether you can need it because you actually need it. Of course even if you ask, I will ask you to equip it on the spot to soulbind it.
Especially in RDF:
Need = I need this item, as an upgrade, for the current spec I've joined in as, and it's viable item for my spec.
Greed = Everything else. Vendor, AH, OS, Xmog. Including your "Naxx progression" -gear.
Disenchant = Expect me to explain...
You should run premade RDF HC's with your guildies, this way you can actually need the stuff you need for your Naxx progression runs.
Just make sure everybody are on the same boat.
