1. Changing for the better

The random dungeon finder system is very negatively impactful. The 30 minute deserter debuff is not enjoyable for any player and randomly being tossed into an rdf with trolls is unfair as rdf makes you get:
    -a random dungeon
    -a random group

and the rules behind looting in dungeons is even worse as it forces you into getting only
-a random loot set to roll on

    TL:DR is at the bottum

As a player I should never be scared to "Fill" in a multiplayer game, which means taking on the role of multiple roles that a group may require to proceed in the voyage of group gameplay. In example league of legends filling means playing a role that is not taken. MANY, MANY, and I can't urge it enough MANY players on WoW will fill the random dungeon group with whatever role they can to get the group moving. Retribution paladins, feral druid healers, etc can make a dungeon work although not optimally.

-Ninja looting in a dungeon should only be bannable if the player is needing on an item he does not need for ANY spec, not just his dungeon filed spec, as a need roll signifies a need for an item, not a dungeon qued "need" or a spec need. Yes raid rules are different and they should be different as raiding is much more different than dungeons.

    - Raiding rules go by main spec/ off spec, dungeon rules are based on need before greed loot, which signifies a need for an item. Many classes are also unable to need on items they need via group loot and so this system is flawed already. Paladins will need cloth gear from FOS/POS/HOR and they're unable to need the loot they need because of class requirements. This is why group loot should be in effect over need before greed. This will also have players who ninja loot while leveling up learn from their peers that it's wrong to need on an item and that they need to press greed or they will be banned.

***Overall please implement a window of opportunity for players to leave an rdf they just joined, maybe less than a minute after joining. This will make way for players who want full dungeon clears to not get stuck with mid-dungeon clears or locks they don't want, and also stops any "disruptive gameplay" that comes from being forced into a trashy situation like this.***

***Second suggestion is to change rdf loot to group loot and give a rule book at the start of every new character that shows raid rules, dungeon rules, and server rules overall. This would benefit the server in many ways and help avoid bans***

  2. If the item is not immediately of concern to your active spec then why would it somehow take priority over someone who might actually need it for theirs? Loot is MS > OS, not your greed > everyone, no matter where you go. If you're changing roles to take advantage of something then maybe accept the fact that it comes with a trade off. I doubt anyone wants to sit in a dungeon arguing for their MS while someone else claims it's for their 3rd/4th set.

And as far as a grace period to leave the dungeon goes, wouldn't that quite literally just reopen the opportunities for trolling that deserter is for in the first place?

  3. In fact deserter should last even more, still too many ppl leaving. Second, vote kick should cause one as well, for like 15 mins, because now people just afks and refusing to Play, forcing vote kicking on them.

As for items, well, one more time I highly disagree. Im mage, wear clothes. So now I don't fight with other clothers for items, but also with: feral druid tank, feral druid DPS, balance druid, testo druid, enh shammy, resto shammy, ele shammy, all of the paladins as well. Good job gear any toon, while most multi-spec classes will roll for 90% of items.

The only thing is kinda unfair is no ability to roll need for cloth items, if its for Your man spec, its bis for you and you are like dudu or shammy. Its kinda weird imo

  4. In fact deserter should last even more, still too many ppl leaving. Second, vote kick should cause one as well, for like 15 mins, because now people just afks and refusing to Play, forcing vote kicking on them.
That would open up for the possiblity to kick ppl for no reason only to have that person have a 15min debuff. And if ppl go afk or refuse to play and forcing the group to votekick them you can report them for doing so.

Feral druids, prot and ret palading dont have any reason what so ever to roll need on cloth-gear. If they are rolling for offspec they should roll greed.

  5. You guys look past that fact that noobs can force good players to waste extraordinary amounts of time in things they don't want to do. Either make leaving a raid give a raid group lock and enforce the rule completely or remove it completely.

I don't want rdf to have different rules than raids, high gearscore players go to icc 10 man or 25 man and leave after marrowgar stopping any progression for lower geared players.

Also it's not greed to want to fill the positions in a dungeon @ the first guy. How about you pick healer or tank next time you do dungeon? Or how about you just don't get to go into a dungeon because there aren't enough people looking for a specific role??? The idea is that you should be able to choose which loot rolls you are rolling on and which group roles you are filling if this is the case.

If I que as tank and I want dps gear but no tanks have been on and I've been in que for 2 hours and I swap over to tank and win a dps item I shouldn't be ****in banned for needing an item I actually need. This never happened in retail either, especially when brought up with a GM.

  6. In fact deserter should last even more, still too many ppl leaving.
People are and will remain free to leave at will. The point of the debuff is to discourage people, not to try to forbid them.

Second, vote kick should cause one as well, for like 15 mins, because now people just afks and refusing to Play, forcing vote kicking on them.
That's something reportable and which leads to a ban.

Regarding the suggestions, if you don't want to run the risks that come with RDF - such as a bad players - queue with a group instead; the rule book is here in the Forums for people to read, there's no need for in-game items. The rest was addressed by Report already.
