WotLK Difference between "WOTLK" and "WOTLK (old)"

Hello !
I decided to play on a WOTLK server. I went on french servers but it was not really...blizzlike, nor populated...So i decided to come here.
A good guy told me that if i wanted a blizzlike server, i had to go on the Lordaeron Realm.

I'm now willing to download the game after creating my account. The only thing that bothers me is this :

What is the difference between Wotlk and Wotlk (old).

And since i'm on the Q&A forum, i have another question.
That good guy also told me that there was a server pay to win (because we could buy ShadowMourn and other items) and he told me that the BGs are "crossing" servers. So a blizzlike server player (if Lordaeron is one) could fight in BG against a guy in Icecrown (if that is the server). Is it even balanced ?

wotlk= Wotlk with WoD models

Wotlk (old)= Wotlk standard ( I recommend this one, the other one may cause crashes)

Ye, BGs and Arenas are linked with Icecroen and Blackrock realm.
BG are balanced by the fact that you will have players from "pay to win" in your team as well.

About Arenas yes, it is not fair at all and they did not work on a solution yet as far as I know.

Icecrown looks like an endgame server, what about others ?
I'm asking this because you said that Icecrown and Blackrock were linked, what about others ? Are they not linked ?

Linked= BGs and Arenas are cross realm. So you can face ppl from icecrown and blakcrock.

this means that if you are PvE oriented it should not affect you.

Differences between servers?
Icecrown= x7 exp, x3 gold-rep-prof-weap skills. Gear available for Coins on website
Blackrock= instant lvl 80 but only pvp realm. You can do only bg/arena here .Relentelss and Togcs 25 hc gear is free
Lordaeron= x1 for everything. Hardcore content (Raid Bosses are buffed) . No gear for Coins

Icecrown and Lordaeron are both endgame already ( so ICC and RS Raids available)

Oh Lordaeron is not blizzlike neither...**** it :( what kind of buffs is it about ? HP, damage...strat ? Are dunjeon bosses concerned too ?

As far as I know only Raid bosses are buffed ( so no dungeon's bosses)

for ICC I have read Bosses have more HP and a shorter Berserk timer.

Lordaeron is basically an Hardcore PvE realm.

You need to understand this is a necessary evil. No new mechanics or anything like that. Just a damage and HP buff to make this decade old content still difficult.

i can understand that, yes.
But not the transmo. That's...too much. I see a lot of people with transmo gear. That ain't wotlk
