WotLK Faction change not working icecrown.

I just purchased a faction change for 30 points and it's not working. It says "Could not change race for character". I heard it could be because i have WoD models so i removed the folders and went back to default wow models and nothing changed - still the same message. Any suggestions?

That hair style does not seem to be available for humans in wotlk. That's most likely what causes the problem. Try changing it to different hair style.

Just made him completely bald with no facial hair and the default white skin colour with normal facial expressions, still not working.

It could also be the face. And your screenshots look like wotlk client with WoD models. If that's the client where you tried to remove them, it probably did not work. But if you select face, hair style and facial hair that are available in wotlk, it should still work.

Okay, this time i used both the wotlk client and wotlk models. I also used what i think was every feature that was available during wotlk (hair, face, skin e.t.c), still having issues :S

I understand how this could be the issue but why am i the only one getting it? warmane don't even offer wotlk models in their default client anymore it's all legion models, surely everyone doesn't remove models e.t.c from their folders on warmane every time they faction change a toon...

On download page you can select wotlk (old) to get a regular wotlk client. I don't know what clients others are using but I have never been interested in wotlk client with WoD or Legion models so I am using regular wotlk client. There were problems with the client with WoD models and I think most people stopped using it.

People have been having problems with it before but I don't see any threads about it lately. There could be other reasons for your problem but this one seems the most likely.

Downloaded the old wotlk client on warmane.... STILL not working

i've been trying to fix this for a few hours no don't know what else to try... i'm on a MAC, could this be an issue, do i have to do something else with the folders that i haven't already? anyone that has MAC experience out there? lol

There are some differences in MAC client but I have not heard anything about faction change problems related to it.

Are you using faction change correctly? Are you trying to change it from blood elf to human? Other than that, I don't know what could be wrong with it. Unless it's related to the recent changes that have separated character selection screen from realm server to test cross realm features. Did you buy the character from character trading recently? If so, a server restart might fix your problem.

About your second point though, I purchased a shadowmourne on it about a month ago, about a week after i recustomized it for 10 coins to change it from a Male to female blood elf. The exact same thing happened, it displayed a message "Could not recustomise character", i tried removing WoD folders e.t.c nothing was working, then i logged off and came back in a few hours and it just suddenly worked.

Maybe the server restarted during this time period i wasn't playing, could that be a possibility?

That's possible. Server restart could solve some problems.

Changes to Icecrown were made 1 week ago so your previous problem might have been before that. Right now I am not sure if a restart will solve your problem that soon. It's usually the realm that crashes and restarts but now character selection screen is on a different server, which might not crash or be restarted as often.

Okay, i just got a guildie from the phillipines to log into my account and try to faction change, same message appeared for him. He is using Windows and WoTLK models.
Im so unsure at this point, i can't think of anything at all that could affect it apart from what you said above which seems very unlikely...

I've cleared cache, WTF, removed patches, removed the folder with all my addons.. the only folders i have left to play around with are Logs and errors, which i don't think have any affect lol. I also only have 1 wotlk client (now 2 since i downloaded the old one) on my mac so it's not like theres a problem with duplicity or anything. Could it be a warmane problem? either way im done with this lul

If it's not working with a regular wotlk client on Windows, then it's a server side problem. If server restart doesn't fix it, you can try to make a support ticket on website here. I think that's more appropriate for this problem than ingame ticket, since the problem happens before you can log on your character, but I might be wrong about that.
