So recently I bought a new PC with the following specs:
Windows 10 Pro edition
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x
GPU: Palit Geforce RTX 2060 6GB
RAM: 2x8 GB DDR4
Motherboard: Asrock B350 or something
600W PSU
I don't think that's a bad system for a game that is 10 years old (WOTLK exp I mean) yet I get some not that graet results while I play. With every setting maxed out my FPS is about 30 while in Dalaran ot Orgrimar, and about 150-200 in non populated areas. While using the monitoring funcion of MSI Afterburner I noticed that for most of the time my GPU usage sits at about 30-40%, and my CPU usage is about 20-25%.
I did a little research on the Internet and found out that apparently that's how WoW is optimized and uses one of the CPU cores more than the others. I still think my results are pretty low though.
I tried disabling HPET in windows, tried giving the game affinity over all my CPU cores, gave the game maximum priority in the task manager, tried runing the game in compatability mode for win 7 and nothing seemed to fix the problem.
So can anyone help me with that?
Yes I get fps drops as well with my computer. It can be server side as well not only old client problems.
I remember trying to play bfa on private server and I had at least 40 less fps and on blizzard servers I had more and it was more stable game. So it doesn't have to do everything with the old game client.
First this server has a lot of people and that can overloard the server leading to unstable fps and lagging no matter how good computer you have.
