The X-mas event is an event that happens a few days each year. Something scarce and appreciated. I remember back some years ago with the snowman and cow event people were lining up to grab the opportunity to gear up their toons. I have many characters and donated gear and I don't feel the need to play this game anymore. Yet, I would gladly donate a new insta 80 toon and bring my friends back just for the xmas event experience. By being cheap on your giveaway gifts and events you don't increase your income. You decrease it. Trust me there would be A LOT of new/old players coming back for this reason and by investing time on their characters they would surely as hell invest money afterwards. Remember, the xmas event is not something that happens every day. It's something that happens a few days each year. There's no reason to make lousy events out of fear not to give away something valuable. Giving away free samples is what draws people into trades,businesses and sales. This is the human nature. Personally I would invest a few money to gear up a new toon if the events were worth it in my free time this xmas. But I probably won't. And I can tell that there's a decrease in population as well for that reason. The old events went a long way back then to draw people in the game. Just a reminder.

This is the thing Warmane playerbase doesn't get, they aint hurting anyway for money in the slightest donate if you want to if you dont you dont, they still making bank all year round.

the eof farm events were nothing more than a handout. you should not be able to gear a character that well in a few days, without the use of the store. suck it up.

Here is the thing people dont understand.

They dont have to do anything, its all still free EoF and you can gear with the current event very easy. I did it for like an hour today and got 52 frosts.

Now quit crying about free things on a free server. You can go play retail where no such event even exists

The EoF events were, in retrospect, the worst idea ever. I'm not really looking forward to the thousand posts every Christmas demanding them to be back.

Stop being such spoilt brats. Snowmen dropping 2 EOFs where the worst thing that happened to PVE, PVP and AH ever.
You got all 5.8k+ characters doing pugs, joining guilds, doing BGs and what not with a class they've only played for a few hours.
Crowded zones led to crashing, it was insanely unstable with less players. Now, with 12k, it wouldn't hold up at all.
I liked last years Santa boss, it was new content, even wiping it was fun because it was new. Any fun events are nice, rewards can be some silly usable items or something like that, but not eof/gold/whatever you're talking about there.
Isn't the gifting part more about who gives you something and that it's enjoyable, not just as expensive and fancy as it gets? Or are we going full American Christmas style here?

Tried this event for one hour, and it was the most boring hour in my entire life, 150-200 people in one place spamming AOE/macro ;D
Also felt like those people who fighting, nearly killing others for iphone at black friday.

Yeah its pretty easy, the only fun I find is hunting down the pve groups and killing them.
