1. Warmane has information all over the place and often between pages of random spam, would be useful to make some sticky posts with proper information regarding the server such as :
list of commands available in game (if any),
list of channels (had no idea the main channel is global/trade here, on previous servers were called differently) ,
proper information about usage of Mercenary mode (is it just activating it on forums? do you have to activate it in game as well? are you gonna be in opposite faction automatically every bg or randomly?)
2. I have a huge deal of experience in PvE having cleared all content with multiple classes, knowing all the fights , however, here is nearly impossible to step foot inside an ICC pug without achievement or a proper high GS which isn`t attainable without doing ICC. So what gives? Is like asking in real life, a 21 year old who just finished studies, to have 10 years of experience. on top of that, add the fact that most of ICC are HC/NM which makes getting into, even harder.
3. Donation issue. Big big issue for me as I have donated and my points were blocked immediately having to wait 72 hours to use them after which I found out I have to double authenticate and have to wait 3 more days before I have the right to use trade system? Would be useful to know all these things from the start , have them posted on forums somewhere very visible or even on the main webpage. Imagine being hyped and donating to get some gear and then having to wait a week before being able to.
I love the server even tho theres a lot of toxicity around from people, such as multiboxers in WG, pretentious scrubs who go in RDF to link dmg meters and vote to kick low dmg, SM+STS hc wearers who put some greens to qualify in lower PvP bracket and faceroll and so on.
These people are everywhere but all in all, a better introduction of the server ,hell, I didnt even know the rate the server has, maybe is written somewhere, but didnt find it.
1) Completely agree, there's a lot of questions being asked on Q&A subforums that can be answered by several threads all over the place. If some useful stickies were compiled with the most common answers to these questions that would've been dank.
2) Yes, it's like the age/job experience thing. That's why you try to join a low guild and work your way up to bigger ones if they're not progressing the way you like.
3) It says somewhere in trade section that you can't use them for 72 hours iirc but it doesn't mention that you need 2FA enabled for it. Would be good to add it to some sticky aswell.
As for toxicity, try playing on Lordaeron. I've heard from plenty of people that Lord's playerbase is a lot friendlier and that people who switched are never going back to Iceclown. XP rates are here: https://www.warmane.com/information, you'd need to browse the forums for rep and gold ones. I think they're ×3 for Icecrown.
1 - No custom commands, it's not a custom realm. Message about global channel is spammed every once in a while by server, or is it upon login, it says "Join global to chat with other players." There's a whole thread about Merc mode which explains it in detail. It's opt in, won't affect you unless you're looking for it.
2 - It's that way because everyone says they know tactics, that they do dps as any other better geared player and so on and still fail at every single corner. By putting up a high requirement you weed out most of those players. Even with 5.8+ you'll still get some that know nothing, but it's more rare.
3 - That is a valid point, lots of people complained about that one but it's not hurting you that badly, now you know about it.
1. While I hear you, I'll say we have tried. We created the FAQ thread in the Support/Q&A section, just to have it either ignored or used to ask questions (sometimes that were answered in the FAQ itself). Same applies to the sticky regarding getting banned, although that one is locked to avoid posts. Still, way over half the threads that get posted in that section are already answered in those two stickies. Often you will see two identical threads, one after the other, with one already answered before the newest was posted. Add to that the fact that what people would consider "proper information" isn't the same for everyone, and we kind of end at a tricky position.
2. Unfortunately, people have grown into the habit of overcompensating lack of skill with bizarrely bloated requirements. Some people just had bad experiences and want to make sure that if someone is bad, they at least have so much gear they will still mow past stuff, or are bad themselves and want to be carried so the requirements make sure of it. There isn't much that can be done by the Staff about that. People usually join guilds or create their own raids with reasonable requirements instead of join others' (although then you run the risk of the first case, finding people who have alright gear, but no clue about mechanics).
3. That limitation is only for anything between two players, as we had a lot of cases of accounts being stolen and coins traded away through many accounts to make it a hassle to track down. Three days is enough time for even a casual player to realize their account was stolen and take steps to recover it before any damage can be done to their coins. You are still able to use those coins with our services and the Marketplace, just not with Trading.
