1. do GM's really check the proof carefully when banning people?

    greetings

my account got banned for 2 months for "ninja in raid", i even know which player reported me and how this situation came to be, so let me give you all a quick overview:
i joined a "flame leviathan must die" grp on my paladin. as everyone knows, the purpose of this raidgroups simply is to kill that one boss and dissolve. since you drive vehicles for it, your role (tank, heal, dps) doesnt matter and you just find 10 people to go.
well. our grp was full > killed the boss > quest done and the disbanding already began. now here is the thing: some cloth-wrist dropped. common loot rules, i won my roll with "need" against some mage. obviously the mage who reported me etc cause he whispered me about it.
i told him i rolled need for my healing specc and therefore i have the same rights as he has.
i checked the rules again, altough after playing this game for half my life i obviously couldnt find any new rules. if this was an expansion after cata alright, then palas are not allowed to roll on cloth items cause of "plate specialization" buff etc. but here in wotlk you can even find some BiS items for pala heals among non-plate items.

so.... for what reason exactly did i get banned?

edit: if you wanna tell me "you were tank" thats a pretty non-valid argument since my tank gs was 5.6k which made it obvious that i dont roll for 2 speccs, and as already mentioned: for "FL must die" groups are no set roles anyway.

Unless you stated at the very beginning, that you were going to roll on your "off-spec" then you have no rights. If they knew you were going to do this, they might've not joined the raid with you, or voted to kick you. This is a very common problem among raid groups and people like you make these types of posts.. I would say about weekly.

Yes, this is a rule. General communication with your raid, is a rule. Everyone needs to be notified of your plans, and approval has to be set by the entire group.

If you really wanted to avoid this problem, you would've traded that item back to the mage and walked on happily with your 5.6k GS paladin. Instead, you're here, posting a pretty MUTE point, stating that this isn't Cata, and the server rules don't restrict me from rolling on cloth. You were also apparently aware of the report, and you decided to challenge it. Next time? less ego, and give up what you know should NOT be yours.

  3. wait? you needing an ulduar wrist for hpala spec? isn't that you can buy the superior crypt keepers' bracers from ah? if i am not mistaken, its selling like 100-300g

  4. you are mistaken valestia. you are thinking about a situation in common raids where people for example kill 3 bosses ICC und suddenly the cat says "i roll for heal". in this sort of situation every player joined already with a fixed ROLE into this raid, in my example right now the cat joined as cat (meele dps, agility based) into raid and that is his set loot.
in case of a "flame leviathan must die" group there are no set roles, i did not join as tank to roll on heal or anything like that, i simply joined as one of 10 players where the role doesnt matter with my mind on "maybe i get lucky and some healitem drops".
nobody talks about loot in FL-groups and never seen anyone make a fuss about it either, except this particular mage.
with your logic: "wait dont pull the boss" - "why not?" - "i have to change my specc to heal real quick else i cant roll for the only specc that needs gear"

less ego? just cause someone tells you about a report doesnt mean it is justified, we both needed it equally and i won it fairly

    @callum90:
yeah, pretty sad that such a thing happens about this kind of gear

  5. in case of a "flame leviathan must die" group there are no set roles,
And where exactly did you read this? FL is a raid like any other. Just because you do it for the weekly and then leave doesn't mean it's not a raid boss with usual loot rules. People might still need gear from there. If you didn't give bracers to the mage you deserved the ban.
