WotLK 2-phase authentication not working

I enabled two factor authentication on my accout.

I succesfully logged- in the website with the two factor authentication.

A day later I go to play WoW and launch my client, insert username and password, hit enter, and the 6 digit code field appears. I check the mail and use the digits, but i get an error that the info is incorrect.

I tried it 20 times, it does not work. And yes, the code is correct.

you can bypass this issue by removing in-game protection temporarily > so you can finally enter in-game > then you enable the protection back
