WotLK Raid Boss BoE Item Free Roll

Hello, I've hosted an chill ICC 25 pug group with no reserves or specially stated loot rules.
From the boss Valithria Dreamwalker dropped a boe wand Nightmare Ender, at the end of the raid I've decided to roll it to the whole raid as it was boe item.
Immediately after everyone was done rolling and a warrior won the roll,i got an angry whisper from a shadow priest with "bring it back" and "or im going to report you".
Then this person insisted that item was his for taking, that i had no right rolling a boe from boss to the whole raid and if i wasn't going to talk with the warrior and get "his" item back he would report all of it to the gm, it felt like he was threatening me and trying to bully me into giving him the item, even tho i told him that he is free to speak to the warrior himself and ask for the item if he needs it.
Now this priest was very sketchy, we've caught him swapping his shadow gear with discipline one after winning a roll on normal mark for his ms, he had all 4 pieces sanctified shadow gear and Leggings of Woven Death.
This whole situation got me thinking, was I wrong in letting the whole raid roll for a boe item or was this person just greedy for some ah money? And if I was in the wrong, will i get suspension for doing this?

You were supposed to roll for it the required spec and not "free roll" it unless you announced so in the loot rules: "BoE's free roll".

Yeah, i guess I've made a mistake, my thinking was that if we roll all BoE items that drop from thrash mobs we roll the ones from the bosses as well.
Next time I will specify that BoE's (even from bosses) are a free roll, i just hope it won't be the last time i host in the coming month.
