It's a scam. People send an item C.O.D and hope you will just click yes without thinking about it.
Report the player. pretty sure that stuff is bannable.

A while ago I received the same mail(literally the exact same mail) but for 3k gold. It was from a lvl <20 rogue which "magically" disappeared from the armory a few hours later. It's a C.O.D scam as someone pointed out above me, intended to exploit people's lack of attention to small details, like ignoring confirmation dialogs and insta clicking Yes button.
