Arena Points question

Does it matter if you do more than 10 matches a week? Do you get less arena points or anything like that?
I'm at about 1500 rating. Should I just do an unlimited amount till I get at least 1600 since then i'll have access to being to buy wrathful gear and i'd get more arena points if I get 1600, right? or should I just do 10 a week only?
