WotLK Can't proceed with Sons of Hodir quest

So I dropped the ball and decided to power level Sons of Hodir rep by buying the recommendations, and i got to revered, but when i went to the quarter master I couldn't find him, so I decided to proceed with the questline in order to find the vendor, but when I got to the [Going Bearback] quest, I couldn't burn the giants and the wolves in order to finish the quest since I was friendly with them, so what can I do in order to drop rep or proceed with the quest?

Setting "at war" in reputation tab used to work for me few years ago. Try doing that.
