Arcanist Ivrenne <Emblem of Heroism Quartermaster> - located in The Silver Enclave (Dalaran) https://www.wowhead.com/npc=31580/arcanist-ivrenne
10 emblems per orange/green/purple, 20 per red/blue/yellow
Because as far as I remember, they stopped selling epic gems prior to patch 4.0.1.
Any info about this change would be nice, since I didn't see any changes in changelog posted 10th June, and I was buying them like a week or two ago.
It seems the be the case that on the Horde side of Icecrown server we can no longer exchanges Honor with Epic Gems. Is this intended or a bug ? I have checked the forum and it looks like similar thing happened in 2016. If this is a bug and not adressed, it will affect the jevelcrafting market equilibrium harshly. Mosts of the epic gems are supplied by the multiboxers, casual honor farmers and alchemists. If they cannot purchase from this vendors, I am afraid Gem prices may see K golds.
Cant find those from Stormwind for honor points, nor for emblems in Dalaran. Bug? or is it true, that they got removed due to multiboxers..?
If so, is this truly the most effective way to approach it, I dont know understand mechanics behind all this but I just imagine this is pissing on everyones boots, there must be some other alternative to punish/prevent multiboxing..
Are you mayhaps refering to frostmourne? Then epic gems arent available yet. If not, there has been no information about this happening and on horde side i bought gems with honor just 2 days ago, hence a bug???
They are indeed missing from the quartermaster on both sides. At first, I was pissed as well, since I do PvP 24/7 and on a good day, I could make some reasonable side-income selling Cardinal Rubys. There were around 10 people standing near me, they were not happy about it either.
However, the more I think about this, I realize that maybe I can live without this side-income if it means to cut on of the multiboxers' sources of income. They have all the daily + weekly quests, they probably have alchemy on every toon and transmutating every day. Not to mention the endless ways one can make money with multiboxing.
So, to put it simply, I consider this a wise decision. Warmane should think about more ways to cut the gold-flow of multiboxers, even if it means a possible decline in their donations. We all know mboxers like to donate and Warmane likes them as well :))
At first I thought this was Intentional due to Multiboxers and Fully Geared Players over-saturating the market with WAY to many epic gems making them only 150g - 200g each. In Retail, no one did that because people were spending Honor on Gear mostly instead of Gems. Reduces the profits of JC by a mile relative to other Professions
Note: Over Half the Auctions I see on Epic Gems are from 5 40+ Boxers that somehow obtain hundreds of them, most of the rest are people who say "WTB, your Uncut Epic Gems, 140g each"
